Spherical Street View Project

The project development request came from a young and ambitious Russian company which provides real estate internet services.

Project objective was to integrate Google and Yandex maps with a Flash player for spherical street view and replace the old solution on current customer’s portal.
The map designed to support different layers, such as the one, allowing users to select which infrastructure objects to display on the map, a layer with photos and a separate 3D view one. Also Oxagile implemented a possibility to automatically select, which map should be displayed – Google or Yandex.

If the user wanted to view a house and the neighborhood before taking decision whether to buy it or rent, he didn’t need to go to the place himself. It was enough to click on the map and the system opened a flash player with the following capabilities:

• View and rotate panorama – allowed to examine all the nearby facilities.
• Send a link – allowed service sharing between several people.
• Zoom – allowed to get a larger or smaller view of the map and panorama.
• Move forward and backward inside the player window – allows “walking” along the streets and getting more views.

The new and user-friendly Flash player implemented by Oxagile improved the number of visitors to customer’s web site and raised the amount advertisements published and viewed.
